READ — Redirection

The scent already has a strong identity, but I would like it to feel more structured, grounded, and readable. Please simplify the middle to reduce complexity, remove unnecessary aromatic elements, and clearly define kuromoji as the central axis. At the same time, I would like the woody backbone to be more present and stable, so the scent feels anchored rather than diffused. This fragrance should feel like a defined line — dry, clear, and intentional — supported by a subtle but noticeable woody depth.
A structured green-woody composition built around kuromoji — dry, clear, and readable, with a grounded woody backbone and subtle paper-like texture.

A quiet, focused space — wood, paper, and air. Not naturalistic, not aromatic, but structured and intentional. It should feel like something you can follow — a line, a surface, a clearly defined form.

1. TOP — Controlled Green Start
Black pepper (clean, dry) · Bergamot (trace) · Cardamom (very subtle)
Role
A restrained, structured opening · Not fresh, not aromatic · Slightly sharp but controlled
Avoid: spice-heavy warmth or aromatic brightness
2. HEART — Structured Core
Kuromoji (main axis) · Vetiver (clean, dry, grounding) · Cedarwood (linear, dry) · Galbanum (reduced, supporting)
Role
A clear woody axis with kuromoji at the center · Vetiver provides depth and weight · Cedar defines the line · Galbanum supports without thickening · Linear and readable, not layered or dense
3. TEXTURE
Iso E Super (controlled) · Ambroxan (low, supportive) · Mineral nuance (very subtle) · Ink accord (trace)
Role
Air + diffusion + subtle abstraction · Creates space around the structure · Paper / ink / dry air impression
Avoid: making the scent too soft or blurry
4. BASE — Dry Structural Finish
Vetiver (extended) · Cedarwood (extended) · Patchouli (clean, controlled) · Soft musk (minimal)
Role
A stable, grounded base · Dry, quiet, and present · Maintains structure until the end · No sweetness, no warmth, no softness
Spray → controlled pepper-green → defined woody line → paper / ink → dry air

I want READ to feel structured, grounded, and clearly readable. Kuromoji should lead the composition, supported by vetiver and dry woods to give it weight and presence. The middle should be simplified to reduce complexity, while maintaining a strong woody identity. This fragrance should feel like a defined line — dry, stable, and intentional.
